본 연구의 목적은 영유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지의 역할지능과 행복감간의 관계를 알아보는 것이다. 연구의 대상은 서울특별시와 경기도 소재 유치원과 어린이집에 자녀를 보내고 있는 아버지 294명이다. 본 연구에서는 질문지를 사용하여 아버지의 역할지능과 행복감을 조사하였고, 기술통계, 상관관계분석, 중다회귀분석을 통해 자료를 분석하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 본 연구에 참여한 영유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지들은 중간보다 다소 높은 수준의 역할지능을 가지고 있었으며 하위요인별로는 관리역할, 발달자극역할, 그리고 양육 및 지지역할 등의 순으로 높은 수준의 역할지능을 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 본 연구의 대상인 영유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지는 중간보다 다소 높은 수준의 행복감을 느끼고 있었다. 이들은 자립성과 관련하여 가장 높은 수준의 행복감을 느끼고 있었고, 다음으로 자녀의 바른 성장, 배우자와의 사랑, 그리고 부모 및 친지와의 관계와 관련된 행복감을 높은 수준으로 느끼고 있었다. 이에 비하여 종교, 사회․정치․문화․환경, 이타심, 사회적 지위 및 인정 등과 관련된 행복감은 비교적 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 아버지들의 역할지능과 행복감은 긍정적인 관계가 있어 역할지능이 높을수록 아버지들이 느끼는 행복감의 수준도 높은 것으로 나타났다. 역할지능 중 자녀를 통제하는 관리역할, 양육 및 지지역할 중의 거부, 증진과 관련된 발달자극역할 등이 아버지의 행복감에 많은 영향력을 미치고 있었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between parental intelligence and happiness of fathers of young children. Participants in this study were 294 fathers of young children in Seoul and Kyunggi-do. A survey method was used to investigate their perception of their own parental intelligence and happiness. The results of this study showed that fathers of young children rated their own parental intelligence above the midpoint of the 4-point scales in the subcategories provided in the survey. In the subcategories of fathers' parental intelligence survey, the participants scored the highest in management role, in nurturing role next, and the lowest in care-giving role. They also rated their happiness above the midpoint of the 4-point scales in the subcategories provided in the survey. The fathers perceived their happiness level to be the highest in the subcategory of independence, and also perceived their happiness level to be relatively high in the subcategories of children's growth, love life with wife, and the relationships with their parents and extended family. The correlation analysis revealed that fathers' parental intelligence and happiness was correlated. Stepwise regression analysis showed that fathers' perceived parental intelligence in the subcategories of management role, encouragement, and enhancement of their children influenced fathers' happiness positively, and their perceived parental intelligence in the subcategory ofrejection influenced fathers' happiness negatively.
