대학병원의 재무비율과 수익성 관계 분석

초록

본 연구는 우리나라 보건의료체계에서 큰 비중을 차지하고 있는 대학병원의 재무제표 자료를 이용하여 안정성, 유동성 및 활동성과 수익성 간의 인과관계를 구조방정식을 통해 분석하고자 하였다. 주요 결과를 보면 첫째, 수익성에 가장 높은 영향력을 미치는 요인은 안정성으로 정(+)의 인과관계를 나타냈다. 이는 병원이 자본집약적 산업의 특성을 지니고 있어 적절한 고정자산 비율과 부채비율을 통한 재무레버리지 효과에 기인하는 것으로 판단된다. 둘째, 안정성 다음으로 수익성에 영향력을 미치는 요인은 병원의 존속과 관련해 매우 중요한 지표인 유동성이었으며 수익성과 정(+)의 관계를 보였다. 셋째, 활동성은 수익성에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았으며, 더불어 활동성과 안정성, 유동성과 안정성 간에도 유의한 인과관계가 나타나지 않았다. 상기의 연구 결과를 통해, 안정성 요인인 부채비율, 고정부채비율 및 고정비율과 유동성 요인인 유동비율, 당좌비율이 수익성과의 인과관계를 설명하는 중요한 변수임을 알 수 있었다. 이는 대학병원들이 수익성을 높이고 경영합리화를 이루기 위해서는 안정성과 유동성 관련 요인들을 적절하게 개선할 수 있도록 다각적인 방안을 강구해야 하며, 특히 효율적인 회계 및 재무시스템 구축에 많은 노력을 기울여야 함을 시사해 준다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between financial ratios and profitability in university hospitals. Financial ratios are important indicators of an organization's finance and business conditions. Among various financial indicators, profitability, financial stability, flexibility, activity are frequently used to analyze management performance. Using the structural equation modeling(SEM), this study examines the structural relationship between financial ratios and profitability. The results of this study show that profitability(return on assets, normal profit to total assets, operating margin to gross revenue, normal profit to gross revenue) is affected by financial stability(total debt to equity, long-term debt to equity, fixed assets to fund balance). Financial flexibility(current ratio, quick ratio) is strongly related to profitability. Financial activity(total asset turnover, fixed asset turnover) is no statistically significant relation to profitability. Therefore, profitability is correlating relationship among financial stability, flexibility in university hospitals. It is expected that the outcomes of this study contribute to improve the profitability, financial system in university hospitals
