교칙은 학교 구성원들의 질서 있는 생활을 돕기 위한 규범이다. 하지만 학생들은 교칙 중에서도 상․벌점과 관련된 교칙만을 알고 있으며, 교칙의 의미와 필요성, 세부 내용에 대해서는 충분히 알지 못하고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 학생들에게 교칙을 준수하도록 강제하는 것은 학생들을 수동적인 교칙 준수자로 만들 가능성이 높다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 본 연구는 학생 참여의 한 방법으로 학생들이 교칙 제․개정 과정에 직접 참여하는 ‘학생 참여 교칙 제․개정 모형’을 제안한다. 본 모형을 적용하여 실험한 결과, 학생들의 교칙 태도 변인의 평균이 모두 유의미하게 상승하였다. 이것은 학생 참여 교칙 제․개정 모형이 학생들의 자율적이고 능동적인 교칙태도를 함양하는데 효과적인 방안이 될 수 있음을 보여주는 것이다.
Abstract
Although the students spend most of their time in school and the school rules affect students’ lives, they don’t know enough about the real meaning, the need or details of the school rules. This study suggests student participation in the process of enactment and revision of school rules model as a way of student participation. School rules attitudes are defined as the attitudes that students have toward the school rules. Hypotheses of this study are as follows. Main hypothesis: Participation in the process of enactment and revision of school rules model affects students’ school rules attitudes positively. Hypothesis1: This model has positive effects on cognitive dimension of school rules attitudes. Hypothesis2: This model has positive effects on emotional dimension of school rules attitudes. Hypothesis3: This model has positive effects on behavioral dimension of school rules attitudes. To investigate the hypotheses, practice test for applying the enactment and revision of school rules model was performed for about two months at the S middle school located in northern part of Seoul. A researcher examined school rules attitudes through pre-test and post-test. This was given to 362 the third grade students in middle school. A survey was performed by paired t-test using SPSS 20.0 program. As a result, average scores of all factors in school rules attitudes are increased. All hypotheses are supported at the .001 alpha levels. In conclusion, this study suggests that student participation in the process of enactment and revision of school rules model is an effective way of raising students’ self-regulated school rules attitudes.
