여성결혼이민자의 삶의 만족에 관한 연구: 가족관계, 사회적 지지 및 문화적응과의 관계를 중심으로

본 연구에서는 서울 ․ 경기 및 충청지역에 거주하는 여성결혼이민자 556명을 대상으로 이들이 주관적으로 인식하는 삶의 만족도를 알아보고, 삶의 만족에 차이를 가져오는 인구사회학적 변인이 무엇인지, 그리고 가족관계, 사회적지지 및 문화적응 변인을 중심으로 이들 변인과 삶의 만족과의 관계를 위계적 다중회귀분석을 실시하여 살펴보았다. 분석결과 여성결혼이민자의 삶의 만족 수준은 5점 척도에서 평균3.05점으로 약간 만족하는 정도로 산출되었으며, 연령대, 한국거주기간, 거주지역, 그리고 한국인/모국인으로서 갖는 자신에 대한 정체성에 따라 삶의 만족수준에 유의미한 차이가 있음이 검증되었다. 위계적 다중회귀분석결과에서는 삶의 만족에 가장 큰 영향력을 지니는 변인은 가족관계로 나타났으며, 사회적지지 및 한국문화적응과 모국문화유지의 문화적응 변인도 삶의 만족에 유의미한 영향력을 가지는 것으로 분석되었다. 가족관계가 좋을수록, 사회적 지지를 더 많이 받을수록, 한국문화에 대한 적응도가 높을수록, 그리고 모국문화를 유지하려는 성향이 낮을수록 주관적으로 인식하는 삶에 대한 만족수준이 높아지는 것으로 나타났으며, 이들 변인들의 삶의 만족에 대한 설명력은 45.4%로 산출되었다. 이상과 같은 분석결과에 기반을 두고 사회복지실천적 함의 및 여성결혼이민자의 가족관계 증진과 문화적응지원의 중요성 등에 관해 논의하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the level of life satisfaction and analyze differences of life satisfaction with sociodemographic variables and the impact of family relationships, social support, and acculturation on life satisfaction among female immigrants married to Korean men. Data of the study were collected through a purposive sampling method. 556 female marriage immigrants who live in Seoul, Keonggi, and Chungcheong participated in this study. Data were analyzed with a t-test, one-way ANOVA, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis. The results showed that life satisfaction of the female marriage immigrants was significantly different depending on age group, residential period in Korea, residential area, and cultural identity. Also, the results of hierarchical multiple regression showed the influence of family relationships, social support, adaptation to Korean culture, and maintenance of mother culture on life satisfaction was significant. The explanatory power of these variables was 45.4%. Indicated was that the better the family members got along with each other, the higher the social support, and the higher the adaptation to Korean culture were, the higher life satisfaction became. On the contrary, the higher the maintenance of the mother culture was, the lower was the life satisfaction achieved. The findings and implications for social work practice were discussed in relation to family support and acculturation-related issues.
