입양가족의 가족 레질리언스 강화 프로그램 개발을 위한탐색적 연구: 예비입양부모를 중심으로

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop a program for adoptive families for enhancing familial resilience in the familial belief system, organizational pattern, and the communication process based on the concept of 'Family Resilience' by Walsh. Based on the literature review of adoptive families and familial resilience, a five (2hours/week) session program focused on family belief system, organizational pattern, and communication process was designed and implemented to six pre-adoptive stage parents of the adoptive family developmental cycle. An exploratory study was performed by operating a focus group composed of the program participants to provide the implications for the program development. The results of operating the focus group showed that the participants of this study were able to attain positive perspectives and strength in terms of belief system, the couple were able to experience connectedness in terms of organizational pattern, allowed the couple to experience enhancements in mutual communications by positive changes in listening and expressing with the spouses, allowed the family and the individual to become aware of the current status and the directions for the future, and it was repeatedly shown that the changes of the participant had a strong influence on the spouse. The participants also claimed that the approach of constructing the narratives by questioning and the experience of gaining self awareness, expanding the horizons, and sharing their feelings with other adoptive families were essential in bringing about the changes. The significances of this study are the concretion of the concept of family resilience by developing a social welfare practice tool for enhancing family resilience, providing more options and practice support for the daily practitioner who work with adoptive families, and ultimately enhancing the resilience of the adoptive family.
