본 연구의 목적은 발달장애 자녀를 둔 부모의 지각된 낙인감의 영향요인을 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위해 전국에 거주하는 발달장애 자녀를 양육하는 부모 200명을 연구의 표본으로 선정하고 2021년 3월부터 4월까지 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 부모의 지각된 낙인감을 감소시키는 영향요인으로 사회적 지지, 사회활동 참여, 긍정적 재평가 그리고 외상 후 성장이 확인되었다. 반면, 부모의 인지적(적응적) 정서조절전략 중 장애에 대한 수용은 지각된 낙인감을 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 발달장애인을 양육하는 부모의 지각된 낙인감의 부정적인 영향력을 인식하고 이를 지원하기 위한 방안을 정책적⋅실천적 측면에서 제시하였다.
Abstract
This study examines the influencing factors against perceived stigma among parents of people with developmental disabilities. The study participants were 200 parents of people with developmental disabilities from across the country. The survey was conducted from March to April 2021. The results identified social support, participation in social activities, positive reappraisal, and post-traumatic growth as influencing factors that reduce parents’ perceived stigma. On the other hand, acceptance of parents among cognitive emotion regulation strategies (Adaptive) were found to increase perceived stigma. Based on these findings, the study recognizes the negative impact of perceived stigma on parents of people with developmental disabilities and suggests policy and practical measures to support against it.
