고등학생의 자기주도적 연구를 위한 연구질문 생성 교육 방안

급변하는 현대 사회에서 학습자의 주도성이 크게 강조되면서, 자신의 삶과 관련하여 스스로 질문을 생성하여 탐구하는 자기주도적 연구 능력이 고등 학습자는 물론 중등 학습자에게도 강조되는 추세이다. 이 연구의 목적은 고등학생의 자기주도적 연구를 위한 연구질문 생성 교육 방안을 탐색하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 이 연구는 일반 고등학교 한 곳에서 3주 동안 진행된 대학·고등학교 연계 수업에서 연구질문 생성 교육 모형을 형성적으로 설계하였다. 처음에는 선행 연구를 바탕으로 교육 내용을 설계하여 수업에서 실행하였고, 이 수업의 실행 과정에서 보인 학생들의 발전과 어려움 양상을 분석하여 교육 내용을 보완한 후, 수업에서 재실행하였다. 이후 연구에 참여한 학생들이 설정한 교육목표를 달성하였을 때, 이러한 교육목표 달성에 효과적이었다고 판단한 교육적 요소를 바탕으로 학생의 자기주도적 연구를 위한 연구질문 생성 교육 모형을 마련하였다. 연구질문 생성 교육 모형에서는 연구의 핵심어 선정, 연구질문을 초점화하여 작성, 연구질문의 체계화, 연구질문에 대한 상호 피드백, 연구질문을 중심으로 연구의 핵심 요소 연계 등이 제시되었다. 후속 연구를 통해 학생의 자기주도적 연구를 촉진하기 위한 다양한 교육 내용 및 교수학습 방안이 구체화되기를 기대한다.
Abstract
In a rapidly changing society, the ability to conduct and communicate research with generating research questions has been emphasized not only for college and graduate students but also middle and high school students. The purpose of this study was to formatively design an educational model of research question generation for high school students’ self-directed research. In this study, an educational model designed earlier was implemented in a linked college-high school class, and additional educational interventions were designed and conducted in the class by analyzing students' development and difficulties. In the finalized model, the educational elements deemed to contributed positively to achieving the educational goals were included: selecting key words for research, systematically framing focused research questions, mutual feedback and introspection into these questions, and linking research questions with key research elements. It is expected that various teaching and learning methods to promote students’ generation of research questions for their self-directed research will be embodied through follow-up research.
