Abstract

Discourse analysis about the language of novel make it possible to deduce new result which was impossible with existing novel analysis method. The literary homology is supposed to be explained as literature has a correspondent relationship with the situation of the times. The homology between novel and society is decided by the fact that novel shows various aspect corresponding to the societal situation. It reflects on the language directly rather than contents. This thesis is studying three of short novels of Kim Seung Ok for reasoning above concept inductively. 「MuJinGiHaeng」, 「Seoul, the winter of 1964」, Kim’s masterpieces, are the work which we can appreciate the feature of presenting discourse. 「Chapter 0 of Seoul Moonlight」, which was published after long silence in late 1970, presents the various feature of Kim’s novel world. Kim Seung Ok wrote with a closed discourse to keep up with the closed world. Even though his novel has this boundary, his works still represents realities of 1960s. In his novel there are two parties coexisting. One is the violence of objects which attack subject I　and the other is the violent language of subject which oppose objects : origin of violence -　society and nation. Confrontation between violence and violence makes the speed in writing sentences.
