대하소설 <완월회맹연>을 활용한 문화콘텐츠 개발

이 논문은 조선시대 대하소설 <완월회맹연>을 활용하여 다양한 문화콘텐츠의 개발 가능성을 적극적으로 탐색해본 것이다. 특히 본고는 새로운 형태의 역사 가족드라마를 만들고자 하였다. <완월회맹연>은 180권 180책에 달하는 국문 대하소설로, 단일 작품으로는 중세시대 세계에서 가장 긴 소설이었다. 또한 그 같은 분량에 걸맞게 탁월한 상상력이 발휘되어 있는데, 특히 조선후기 대가문을 둘러싼 수많은 사람들의 인생사를 다채롭게 포착해내고 있다. 이에 따라 본고는 <완월회맹연>의 드라마화 작업을 위해 각색 방향을 구체적으로 제시하고, 시놉시스를 통해 작품의 얼개까지 그려 보이고 있다. 그와 더불어 <완월회맹연>은 드라마 뿐 아니라, 출판과 다큐멘터리, 영화, 전시 등의 콘텐츠로도 충분히 개발될 수 있음을 개략적인 내용과 함께 보여주고 있다. 그 동안 고전문학을 활용한 문화콘텐츠 개발은 주로 당위적․추상적 차원에서 논의되었는데, 이 논문을 계기로 보다 실천적이고 구체적인 방향에서 이루어질 수 있기를 기대한다.
Abstract
This paper is surveyed positively a developmental possibility of various cultural contents which utilized a river novel, <Wanwolhwemaengyeon>. Especially, this paper is that it would make a new type of a family and historical drama. <Wanwolhwemaengyeon> is reached 180 books and 180 volumes a Korean river novel, this is the longest novel the Middle ages in the world, with a singular work. And it shows its remarkable imagination with a well-matched quantity, that is to say, it is grasping a lot of human history of life surrounded a noted family in the late Chosun dynasty. Therefore, this paper is embodying a direction for the dramatization of <Wanwolhwemaengyeon>, and showing the structure of work by synopsis. At the same time, <Wanwolhwemaengyeon> is showing that can develop enough contents for publishing, documentary, film, exhibition, etc., as well as drama, along with a sketchy description. Meanwhile, the development of cultural contents which utilized the classical literature has discussed mainly a necessary and abstract level. With this paper as a momentum, I wish that it will realize toward practical and concrete direction.
