저자는 만성정신분열증의 음성 증상을 주소로 한 남자 환자 1례와 양성 증상을 주소로 한 여자 환자 1례에 대해 지난 4년 4개월 동안 리스페리돈을 투여 한 치료경과 및 그 결과들을 보고하였다. 새로운 비전형적 항정신병 약물 중의 하나인 리스페리돈은 정신분열증의 음성 증상에 더 나은 치료 효과가 있었으며 장기간 투여로 인한 심각한 부작용이 없는 것으로 보아 안전한 약물로 사료되며 많은 정신분열증 환자와 그 가족들에게 희망을 줄것으로 기대하는 바이다.
Abstract
Risperidone is the first benzisoxazole to be introduced in the United States for the treatment of schizophrenia. The authors report two cases of chronic schizophrenics with long-term treatment of risperidone. Risperidone may be more effective in the treatment of negative symptoms and also associated with fewer neurological adverse effects than are other drugs in its class. We suggest that risperidone may be a useful antipsychotic drug for the long-term treatment of chronic schizophrenia.
