Abstract

Using the analysis of online-community activities, the purpose of this study aimed to explore the developmental direction of Korean Jazz music, and to search the various problems and possibilities which Korean Jazz music has. Since 2003, the online community related to Jazz improvisation by the name of ‘Obanguitar’ has been running by writer. This paper suggests the various method of approach through the individual curiosity and its comments for the study of Jazz improvisation on the notice board, which is a kind of the forum, and propose the solution by the inference of cause about the distortion of Jazz study method, which has been shown in the center of the various topics. Also, in the middle and late 1990s, the Practical Music was established in university, and then the education of Jazz music has been well organized. However, coupled with the specific situation of the Korean university entrance examination system raised another problem. Thus, this paper found the various factors , that disturbed the development of Korean Jazz music. we suggest the various methods how to solve this problem such as basic music education on this paper.
