엠블럼의 현대성 - 이미지 시대의 문학 텍스트에 관한 미학적 및 정신분석학적 연구

본 시리즈 연구는 ‘엠블럼’을 체계로 하는, 현대 이미지 시대의 담화 양식에 관한 미학적 및 정신분석학적 고찰로서, 기본적으로 ‘엠블럼은 이미지 기호 고유의 미학적 형식이자 심리 철학적 내용’이라는 논점에서 출발한다. 이미지의 형식이자 내용을 이루는 엠블럼의 미적, 심 리적 논리를 밝히고, 나아가 텍스트 사례 분석을 통해 그 상징적 의미생성의 구체적 과정까지 종합적으로 고찰한다. 3년 다년 연구의 마지막 3차 결과인 본 논문, 상론 주제 ‘미셸 레리스, 엠블럼적 텍스트’는 1차 ‘엠블럼의 미학적 논리 연구’와 2차 ‘엠블럼의 정신분석학적 논리 연구’에 이은 후속 연구로서, 선행 1, 2차의 이론적 고찰에 이어 나아간 사례 연구이다. 본 사례 연구는, 이미지-엠블럼의 글쓰기 혹은 엠블럼적 텍스트의 전형을 보여주는 미셸 레리스 의 자전 문학을 대상으로 하여, 엠블럼적 담화의 미학적/정신분석학적 논리, 즉 이미지/페티 시에서 감각/욕망, 반복/동일화, 재현/증후에 이르는 일련의 연계적 논리를 구체적으로 분석 상론하면서, 결론적으로 (공)감각적인 미디어 시대의 상호매체적이고 자기환원적인 담화 기 호로서 이미지-엠블럼의 현대성을 종합 이해하도록 한다. 본 다년 연구를 통해 우리는 ‘엠블 럼의 미학적 및 정신분석학적 논리’와 함께 ‘엠블럼의 현대성’을 밝히고, 나아가 ‘이미지 시대 의 문학적 비전’을 잠정 개진해보도록 할 것이다.
Abstract
This series of studies, which is aesthetic and psychoanalytic considerations of the logic of discourse grounded on ‘emblem’ in the modern era of image, builds on the thesis that ‘the emblem is both aesthetic form and psycho-philosophical content proper to image-sign.’ This study elucidates the aesthetic and psychoanalytic logic of emblem that constitutes the form and content of image and proceeds to a comprehensive review up to the specific process of the formation of their symbolic meaning through text analysis. This paper with the working title “Michel Leiris, emblematic text” reports the third and final outcome of a three-year study. As a follow-up to the first study titled “Aesthetic logic of emblem” and the second study titled “Psychoanalytic logic of emblem,” this is a case study that continues on from the first and second theoretical studies. This case study on the autobiographical texts of Michel Leiris that epitomize emblematic writing or text specifically analyzes and discusses the aesthetic/psychoanalytic logic of emblematic discourse; meaning, a series of linked logic from image/fetish to sensation/desire, repetition/identification and symbol/symptom. In conclusion, the study also aimed to comprehensively understand the modernity of image-emblem as a sign of self-reducing and intermediary discourse in the era of synesthetic sensuous media.
