조지훈의 ‘서경시’에 함축된 시적 전통의 성격

Abstract

This is the study that reviews the view for the poetry of Jihun who evaluates ‘Descriptive Poems’ as the neutral area between lyrics and epics and values its unique value. The purpose of this article is to show that his ‘Descriptive Poems’ are the poetic scope that integrates the core parts of the view for poetry and identifies his spirit of poetry, and to identify how to connect it to the tradition of Korean Poetry. It is the work to review the root of the Korean lyrics and the goal that his poems and view for the poetry goes for. ‘Descriptive Poems’ of Jihun are the poetic model where his principle of poetry writing presented in ‘Poetry’ ― Simplification, Specialization and Generalization.  It models the world where ‘objective and subjective’ and ‘object and self’ become unified. His ‘Descriptive Poems’ inherit the tradition of formative speculation of East Asia, which tries to describe the idea of the poets in the objective world.  It can be the poetic area where the idea of ‘Seonjong – Zen’ that discovers the universal life in the individual life. Jihun wanted to describe the principle of universal life through the object world, and shape ‘Life Emotion’ that enjoys universal life through the instance of unification with the object. ‘Descriptive Poems’ that describes the phenomenon of life with simple language and patterns can be the poetic ideal of Jihun trying to shape the special whole through usual section. It is connected to the aesthetic quality of northeast Asia that makes a deep point in the tradition of Korean Lyrics. The poems such as「Gosa ‘古寺’- Old Temple」,「Sanbang ‘山房’-Temple Room」,「Seungmu ‘僧舞’-Monk Dancing」, and 「 Jeongya ‘靜夜’-Silent Night」 show the characteristics of ‘Descriptive Poems’.
