日帝下 조선인 기업가의 사회적 배경 연구

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the social background which were characteristics of Chosun entrepreneurs under Japanese imperialism through the research sources, that is ‘personal history(personal statements, resume) of entrepreneurs’. The analysis of this study can be summarized as follows:First, the birth time of the Chosun entrepreneurs in the type Ⅱ(type of landowner birth) was in 1880-1889 for the most part, the rest〔Ⅰ(type of aristocrat and bureaucrat birth)·Ⅲ(type of ordinary people birth)〕belonged in 1870-1879 and 1890-1899 with sequence. Second, around half of Chosun entrepreneurs had Seoul as their hometown, the rest of them had Gyeongsang-do and other as their hometown. Third, the activity time of the Chosun entrepreneurs was in the 1930s for the most part, the rest belonged in the 1910s and 20s with sequence. Fourth, Chosun entrepreneurs in the type ‘I·Ⅱ·Ⅲ’ studied Eastern ideas, Chosun entrepreneurs in the type ‘Ⅲ’ had primary school as last degree mostly. Fifth, diversification of Chosun entrepreneurs in the type ‘I·Ⅱ·Ⅲ’ had single business as their major compared with other type. Sixth, Many of Chosun entrepreneurs in the type ‘Ⅲ’ had commerce as their major compared with other type. The result of this study gives entrepreneurs(CEO) suggestions in the time with increasing concerns about the social background of entrepreneurs. Also, this study provides an opportunity to recognize that the social background of Chosun entrepreneurs is different according to the type of entrepreneurs.
