김훈 소설에서의 시간의 문제―<남한산성>을 대상으로

Abstract

This paper tries to seek the ultimate implication through analyzing the time discourse showed in "Fortress on Mt. Namhan" by Kim Hoon. The research object, "Fortress on Mt. Namhan", is of course the narrative for closed space, Fortress on Mt. Namhan. "Fortress on Mt. Namhan", however, not only the narrative for absolute and limited situation of space but also the record for 45days in confined space. The time in 「Fortress on Mt. Namhan」 is the power for existence of the narrative as well as the hidden hero. The people's destiny, locked in Fortress on Mt. Namhan, is simply to say that nothing but the matter of time. The internality is usually well known for important mark of Kim Hoon's literature. But the writer discuss the matter of time from a different angle that he usually empathizes. The writer's will of neutral 'writing degree zero' could be read in his logic of time that not to easily contaminate the situation subjectively and internally. As the situation develops by, however, the time of object becomes the time of affair. Furthermore, through the leading characters' voice, the time becomes of its history. In a word, time becomes the history. "On newborn" and "On eaternity" are the two axis of discourse on time. As narrative ends, the final time order quoted is the cosmos time. It implies two things. First, the choice for the cosmos time implies the exclusion of historic time. Second, can read the alertness of internal mysticism of time.
