부인명(夫人名) 소설에 나타난 여주인공의 성(性)의 자각 과정 연구- 정비석의 『자유부인』과 로렌스의 『채털리 부인의 사랑』을 중심으로-

Abstract

This thesis investigated the sexual deviation and the awareness process of heroins, appeared in the madam novels, focusing on『Liberal Wife』by Jeong Bi Seok and『Lady Chatterley's Lover』by D.H. Lawrence.Madam (Buin in Korean) is the polite way of addressing others' wife. In addition, it plays role of revealing the unique names of married women, traditionally combined with the hometown of women. There are numerous modern and contemporary novels to set the different names of wife as title, but those novels have never acquired the commercialism and popularity at the same time as much as the『Liberal Madam』written by Jeong Bi Seok. There have been many novels that have the titles of wife in the West, but they have in common in that 『Lady Chatterley's Lover』was written in the early and middle term of the 20th century, which is the transitional period of sex like the 『Liberal Madam』, written by Jeong Bi Seok, and arose the ethical argument of those eras. These two novels are the problematic novels to protest the sexual taboo of those days. This thesis investigated 'the existence style of sex and social environment,' 'the awareness process of sex by two heroins', and 'the description of female body, appeared in the physiognomy. Lastly, the focus of this study is that the sexual deviation of women cannot be denounced as a simple ethical matter. Therefore, this study focused on the analysis of the cause of distortion on sex which should be equal and human existence, pursuing for the subjective self-consciousness about the sexual deviation of female main characters.
