현대사회의 노인문화 연구 – 남성노인의 성 인식과 삶의 만족도를 중심으로 –

본 연구에서는 65세 홀로된 남성노인들을 대상으로 성(性)에 대한 인식과 태도 그리고 삶의 만족도를 고찰하고자 하였다. 이는 앞으로 고령화사회로 인해 더욱 증가할 것으로 예상되는 홀로된 남성노인들의 삶의 질을 향상시키고 문제점을 해결하는데 도움이 될 것으로 판단된다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 홀로된 남성노인의 성에 대한 인식 및 태도가 자기효능감, 사회성, 자아존중감 및 삶의 만족도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 파악하고자 하였다. 분석결과, 성 태도와 성 행동이 높을수록 홀로된 노인의 자기 효능감이 높아지고, 홀로된 노인의 자기 효능감이 높을수록 사회성이 높아진다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 홀로된 노인의 자기 효능감이 높을수록 자아존중감이 높아지고, 홀로된 노인의 자기 효능감이 높을수록 삶의 만족도가 높아지는 것으로 나타났으며, 홀로된 노인의 사회성이 높을수록 자아존중감은 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 홀로된 노인의 사회성이 높을수록 삶의 만족도가 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 홀로된 노인의 사회성과 자아존중감을 향상시켜 삶의 만족도 역시 긍정적인 방향으로 이끌기 위해서는 노인의 성에 대한 부정적인 시각보다는 노인들 역시 생물학적, 정신적인 존재일 뿐만 아니라 다른 사람들과 상호 작용하는 사회적 존재로 인식하고, 성에 대한 부분도 젊은 사람들과 동일하게 인식하고 받아들여야 할 것이다.
Abstract
In this thesis, we intended to study the recognition and attitude of sex and life satisfaction targeting single male seniors aged over 65. It is herby judged that this study will be helpful to improve the quality of life and solve the problems for men seniors to be alone more increasingly owing to the trend of aging society in future. In order to achieve the objective of the research, we attempted to figure out how the awareness and attitude of sex of the widowed male aged affected self-efficacy, sociality, self-respect and life satisfaction. As the results of analysis, it could be known that the higher the sex attitude and sex behavior were, the higher widowed seniors' self-efficacy got, and the higher widowed seniors' self-efficacy was, the higher their sociality became. In addition, it appeared that the higher widowed seniors' self-efficacy was, the higher self-respect became, and the higher widowed seniors' self-efficacy, the higher life satisfaction became, and it was shown that the higher widowed seniors' sociality was, the higher self-respect became. And as widowed old people's social nature rose high, their life satisfaction got higher as well. Therefore, in order to improve widowed seniors' social nature and self-respect and also lead their life satisfaction to an affirmative direction, we'll have to recognize old people also as biological and mental beings and social beings mutually interacting with other people instead of a negative angle concerning seniors' sex, and acknowledge and accept their sexual matters equally with young people.
