본 연구는 대학생이 지각하는 지속가능발전 및 지속가능발전교육에 대한 인식을 알아보고 미래의 지속가능발전교육을 위한 대학의 역할에 대해 발전적 제안을 목적으로 한다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위해, 2016년2월부터 3월까지 서울과 경기도에 위치한 4년제 대학에 재학 중인 180명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문지는 지속발전가능발전 및 지속가능발전교육에 대한 정보의 출처, 이해수준, 시급한 과제, 지속가능발전교육 경험, 교육의 필요성, 중요한 교육 분야 및 지속가능발전교육에의 참여의지 등으로 구성되어 있다. 수집된 양적 자료는 PASW 21.0 통계프로그램을 사용하여 기술통계와 빈도분석을 실시하였으며, 서술응답에 대해서는내용분석을 하였다. 분석결과, 지속가능발전교육에 대한 체계적이고 효과적인 전략이 필요하며 다양한 교육프로그램의 개발이 요구된다.
Abstract
This study was aimed to explore the level of awareness of Korean undergraduate students toward sustainable development(SD) and education for sustainable development(ESD). A survey was conducted to understand the present status of awareness of sustainable development and education for sustainable development among 180 undergraduate students in Korea from February to March of 2016. The questionnaire included items asking whether they heard about terms such as SD and ESD, the sources of information on SD, the level of understanding and the urgent challenges for SD, experiences in participating ESD, the need for ESD, important fields in ESD and willingness to participate in ESD. Descriptive statistics and frequency analysis were performed for data analyses, using PASW 21.0 program. The narrative responses were content analyzed. According to the result, it is necessary to approach ESD systematically and effectively. Also, the development of various educational programs were required.
