아리요시 사와코(有吉佐和子)의 사회파소설 연구 ―에코페미니즘적 시각을 중심으로―

Abstract

With a focus on socialism, this study considers the perspective of eco-feminism in the works of Sawako Ariyoshi. Ariyoshi's works are largely divided into this study examines the works from an "eco-feminism" perspective that all oppressed beings through the representative works "The Twilight Years" and "Complex Pollution". The focus on nature in these works is characterized by the author’s approach to environmental pollution the behavior of elderly people with dementia and their caregivers and their responses to natural objects. Second, the fact that Shigezo reacts to the small and fragile natural elements of modern people and sympathizes with the voices of farmers dealing with the earth and nature clearly reveals the aspect of eco-feminism. In “Complex Pollution” it is shown through an analysis of the attitude with which society’s most vulnerable-such as children, the elderly, pregnant women, and fetuses-are dealt that the spirit of eco-feminism heralds women and nature and rejects. Finally, Ariyoshi rebels against industrial development through the tone of her works, and expresses her worldview of resistance to the paradigm of Western development as well as scientific omnipotence.
