초록

The primary purpose of this study was to suggest new ways of measuring people’s housing satisfaction using sentiment analysis. To identify gaps in the literatures, this author conducted literature reviews on housing satisfaction and sentiment analysis. The literature reviews showed that there are some gaps in the existing literatures. In this study, four research questions were formulated to fill the gaps in the literatures. And then such research procedures as data collection, data cleaning, word cloud analyses, sentiment analyses, and content analysis were carried out to answer the research questions. The study results showed that while there are differences in the most frequent words, and mean housing satisfaction sentiment scores among the five largest cities in the US, there are few differences in the distribution patterns of the six emotion types among them. The cloud analysis revealed that the determinants of housing satisfaction seem to be closely related with the most frequent words. Therefore, answers to three research questions turned out to be positive. Finally, on the basis of the results, this author suggested a new model of housing satisfaction.

The cloud analysis revealed that the determinants of housing satisfaction seem to be closely related with the most frequent words. Therefore, answers to three research questions turned out to be positive. Finally, on the basis of the results, this author suggested a new model of housing satisfaction.
