해양 지명어 분석 연구 - 바위에 대한 후부 지명소를 중심으로 -

Abstract

This study aimed to examine fishermen’s spatial awareness of their fishing village as well as the use of actual place names through marine place names which has not been getting much attention in the past. Place names are not just languages referring to places or geographical features, but outputs of human’s spatial awareness of the environment. Therefore, it was thought that it would be necessary to realize place names based on the marine place names long used by the locals, and the use patterns and vocabularies were analyzed using the back place-name morphemes of ‘seong-ae’, ‘deum’ and ‘nae-gi’ referring to rocks of marine place names. As a result, it was able to confirm not only the relatedness between marine place names and land place names, but also how they differ from the standardized marine name places. Although only some place names are dealt with due to the difficulty of field surveys, such study can be utilized as the baseline data related to place names in that it documented marine place names that are actually being used, and furthermore, it can be said that such study holds value as a cultural heritage in that it serves as a language heritage containing the history, culture, lifestyle, etc., of our ancestors and local residents.
