Abstract
Sub-Saharan African economies have to change North-South trading structure in the 21st century. Most developing countries had moved away from primary products to manufactured products. But Sub-Saharan African countries remained that they produced primary products to export developed countries. Sub-Saharan African countries are yet to escape from the Heckscher-Ohlin trap. To escape this trap, Sub-Saharan African countries must develop new product, begin with labor-intensive manufactures and gradually increase resource-intensive products. Also, It produced the 1994 General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade(GATT), and the subsequent World Trade Organization Treaty. Under the new arrangements, most Sub-Saharan African countries are to give way to a more comprehensive drive towards trade liberalization.
