Abstract

]Many peaple believe that Italy has week national identities and strong campanilismo. In fact, Italians use various local languages which can't be understood by each other.In Korea, regionalism or localism has mainly negative function. But in Italy regionalism has both negative and positive function. First it foster such as clientelismo, Southern Question, and separate movement. Second it foster multi-centered development of the country and regional or local autonomy.In this article, I examine regionalism in Italy through three topic. 1. Establishment of region and experiment of regional autonomy especially since 1972.2. Regional policy and development mainly focused on north and south. 3. The separate movement which is extreme case of regionalism that is issued by U. Bossi's Northen League.
