초록
The purpose of this study is to determine how salvation was specified in The Voyage of the "Dawn Treader” which is part of The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis. As the result of syntagmatic analysis, it was proved that the narrative structure combines the fantasy style of imagination with the Christian world-view, and also makes the events that occurred in the first natural world overlapped with the events from other natural worlds. It seems that the author tried to put a bridge between the two worlds by combining a modern realism novel with a fantasy-style fairy tale. As the result of paradigmatic analysis, it was proved that the repetitive isotopies of sin, pain, revival, and sanctification had minute changes in each schema. The 4 isotopies are restored to a schema of trial and present, which means that the people who met Aslan first time could go from present to pain and then from pain to present, and the people who already met Aslan could go from pain to present. But it means that the people who couldn't meet Aslan couldn't go over from pain to present. The level of sanctification was also different, depending on the relationship with Aslan. Especially, if the people couldn't meet Aslan in the pain schema, they couldn't go over the present. This shows the author's salvation view the doctrine of God's election predestination. In the end of The Voyage of the "Dawn Treader", it gives cue that Aslan is a Christ, and it shows the passion of the author, who wants to tell readers the salvation view of Christianity through the fantasy.
