Abstract

This paper aims to examine post-truth in a literature through Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. This novel is a clone’s story. That is, humans longed to live longer, in the end they made clones. The clones were born to be organ donors, but they can learn, criticize, create, and love. That is, they are just humans like us. Therefore, no one can’t injure them. To make human clones is to violate the disposition of Providence. That hasn’t been done yet, but we must recognize resulting dangers. Accordingly, this paper is based on Lee C. Mcintyre’s Post-truth. In the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the position of literature gets smaller, so that creates much concern. However, in other hand, literature needs to lead contemporary people to think and judge rightly. The story of clones in the work allows reader to recognize the importance of truth and humanism. Especially, the characters draw empathy and help them understand the situation of science world. Accordingly, they provide a surprising possibility. That is beyond the provision of God. Human being, however, is prone to overlook the truth. Therefore, the importance of literature and the reflection of religious perspective is desperate in the era of AI(Artificial Intelligence).
