한국화 매체를 적용한 집단미술치료가 치매노인의 인지기능과 우울에 미치는 효과

초록

본 연구는 치매노인에게 한국화 매체를 적용한 집단미술치료를 실시하여 그들의 인지기능과 우울에 미치는효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 S시 소재의 노인요양센터에서 치매판정을 받고 입소해있는 치매노인200여명 가운데 실험집단 13명과 통제집단 10명을 무선배치 하였으나 중도에 실험집단에서 개인적인 사유로 4명이 탈락하여 최종 9명이 참가하였다. 연구는 2013년 1월부터 5월까지 매주 1회기 60분씩 총 15회기가 진행되었다. 연구도구로는 대상자들의 인지기능 변화를 알아보기 위해 한국어판 Hasegawa 치매척도(The K-versionof Revised Hasegawa Dementia Scale: HDS-K), 우울의 변화를 알아보기 위해 코넬치매우울척도(Cornell Scalefor Depression in Dementia: CSDD)를 실시하였다. 또한 매 회기 음성녹음과 관찰을 통해 질적 분석하였다. 본연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국화매체를 적용한 집단미술치료가 치매노인의 인지기능 향상에효과가 있었다. 둘째, 한국화매체를 적용한 집단미술치료가 치매노인의 우울감소에 효과가 있었다. 따라서 한국화매체를 적용한 집단미술치료가 치매노인의 인지기능과 우울 변화에 긍정적인 변화를 가져왔다.

Abstract

This study purport to the use of Korean painting as the medium to find out the effects of group arttherapy on cognitive function and depression of the aged with dementia. The participants of this study areaged patients with dementia from “S” Health Care Facility for the Elderly. They have entered this healthcare facility after being diagnosed with dementia. Among 200 inpatients, the participants with mild-severedementia in this study have been classified into two groups: thirteen participants for the experiment groupincluding 4 dropout and ten participants for the controlled group. This study was performed with a total of15 trials of 60 minutes once a week for Jan to May 2013. excluding preliminary and post examination. Asthe methods for this study, the Korean version of Revised Hasegawa Dementia scale(HDS-K) were used toexamine the changes in participants’ cognitive function. And Cornell Scale for Depression inDementia(CSDD) was also utilized to find out the participants’ changes in depression. In every session, datafrom the participants were collected through the voice records and observations for a qualitative analysis. The results are as follows: As the results, first, the group art therapy using Korean painting materialsproduced positive effects on improving cognitive function of the aged with dementia. Secondly, this groupart therapy used for this study helped the dementia-suffering aged patients to decrease depression. Thus,this group art therapy using Korean painting media produced positive effects on the changes of cognitivefunction and depression for the elders with dementia.
