본 연구는 집단미술치료가 치매노인의 인지기능에 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 D시의 S 주간보호센터를 이용하는 치매노인들 중 K-MMSE 총점이 19점 이하이면서 보호자가 본 연구의 목적을 이해하고 동의한 선정된 치매노인 12명을 실험집단 6명, 통제집단 6명씩 무선 배치하였다. 본 연구의 프로그램은 2015년 3월 2일부터 2015년 5월 8일까지 회기별 60분씩, 주 2-3회, 총 23회 실시하였다. 연구도구는 한국판 간이정신상태 척도(K-MMSE)를 사용하였다. 실험집단과 통제집단의 사전-사후, 사후-추후 검사 점수비교를 위해 Wilcoxon 순위 검증을 사용하였으며, 집단미술치료 회기 중 치매노인의 반응과 미술작품에 나타난 변화를 살펴보았다. 본 연구 결과를 통해 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 첫째, 집단미술치료는 치매노인의 인지기능 척도의 전체점수와 하위영역 가운데 시간 지남력과 기억등록 점수에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 집단미술치료는 회기별 작품에 긍정적인 변화를 가져왔다. 따라서 집단미술치료는 치매노인의 인지기능 향상에 효과적임을 알 수 있다.
Abstract
The study was conducted to analyze the effect of group art therapy on the cognitive functions of the elderly with dementia. The subjects were selected among the elderly with dementia who used “S” daycare facility in city “D,” and who had guardian approval. Six were assigned to the experimental group, and six were assigned to the control group. Sixty-minute sessions were conducted from March 2, 2015 to May 8, 2015. In order to analyze, the effect of the program, the K-MMSE index was used. The Wilcoxon signed-ranks test was performed for the before-and after- and follow-up therapy scores. The results were as follows. First, group art therapy had a positive impact on the overall scores of cognitive scores in the elderly with dementia, as well as sub-areas such as time cognition and memory register. Second, group art therapy had a positive impact on their works which were created and submitted in each quarter term. In other to words, the group art therapy was effective in enhancing cognitive funtion of the elderly with dementia
