미술치료사의 관점에서 대상관계이론을 중심으로 본 박수근의 작품 세계

미술 작품의 상징은 추상적이지만 자기를 포함하고 있으며 이런 상징을 담고 있는 미술은 내적 대상관계와 그와 관련된 정신기제 및 발달의 문제들을 반영하여 주는 공간이 된다. 이 연구에서는 대상관계이론을 중심으로 화가 박수근의 예술 세계를 접근하는 새로운 시도를 통해, 그가 미술의 과정과 대상들을 '과도기적 공간'으로 사용하여 자신의 개인적 상실의 경험과 어려운 시대적 환경을 창의적으로 수용하고 극복해 낸 흔적들을 발견해낸다. 본 연구를 통해 화가 박수근은 일생동안 그림 그리기의 작업 과정 속에서 애착의 대상을 상징적으로 형상화 하고, 내면의 안전하고 평화롭고 사랑이 있는 세계를 예술로 승화시켜 낸 화가였다고 평가한다. 이 연구에서 제시한 대상관계이론의 틀은 미술치료사가 내담자의 작품에 반영된 과거적 현재적 대상관계를 이해함으로써 내담자가 미술 치료를 통해 새로운 관계 경험을 할 수 있는 안전한 공간을 제공하는 방법을 제시한다는데 그 의의가 있다.
Abstract
Symbol formed in art can be abstract, but it contains the self. Art offers a space where reflects internal object relations and their related mental and developmental problems. Object relations theory offers a new way of understanding the Korean artist, Park, Soo-Keun, who utilized art as a 'transitional space', where his personal losses and life difficulties were reflected, accepted and recreated in a creative way. Through this exploration, Park, Soo-Keun was understood as an artist who created his inner world of love and peace of mind through his life long works of painting and experienced the sublimation through art. It is a meaningful process for an art therapist to understand clients' inner world with his or her paintings together through the object relation theory. Art therapist should be able to understand the early and current object relations reflected in clients' art with the framework of object relations theory. It can provide a safe space for the clients to experience new object relationships in the art therapy.
