Abstract
The Qingshang verse and poetry(清商曲辞) in the Six Dynasties are primarily divided into two parts: Wusheng (吴声歌曲) and Xiqu(西曲歌). They originated from folk songs and gradually developed into melodious verse for men of letters, the lines of which derived from the Wu area and Middle part of the Yangtze River, characterized by distinctive local features in language, products and genre. Wusheng(吴声歌曲) and Xiqu(西曲歌), which bravely expressed the love of young people, were equally popular with the upper class in the Six Dynasties in that most noble literati took a fancy to the popular music. The philosophy of Taoism also impelled people to emancipate their minds. Wushen(吴声歌曲) and Xiqu(西曲歌)exerted great influence on anti-feudal ethics, on the development of lyrics, on the scholars’ poetry in the Nan Dynasty as well as on Jueju poetry(绝句)in the Tang Dynasty. Consequently, they possess a significant position in the history of Chinese literature.
