차용어 ‘사돈’과 ‘수라’의 의미 및 표기 문제 고찰

Abstract

This study research notations and meaning of loanwords the ‘sadun(查頓)’, ‘sula(水剌)’. We can find the record of ‘sadun(撒敦)’ in the Yuanqu(元曲), which means ‘related by marriage, a relative by marriage’, It is the same as the present Korean meaning. In the problem of notation of ‘sadun(查頓)’, ‘sa(查)’ was reflected by Sino‐Korean Sounds, ‘dun(頓)’ and ‘dun(敦)’ two words can be replaced with each other in the Chinese sound system. We can find the record of ‘sula’in the Gyengkookdaejeon(經國大典), Nehun(內 訓), Jibongyuseol(芝峰類說) in the Sino-korean literature, but can’t find the record ‘sula’ in the Chinese literature. ‘sula’ was made by Chosun, but it is estimated to refer to Chinese morpheme‘剌’. Chinese [la] pronunciation is written as ‘剌’ in the foreign words of the Yuanqu and transliteration words of the Menggu mishi(蒙古秘史), onomatopoeia words of the Yuanqu, mimetic words of the Yuanqu. The meaning of ‘sula’ problem is how sula’s ‘soup’ meaning changed to ‘royal diet’ meaning. The Mongol impose a tributes to lamb, it be boiled and be cook, it devoted to the king and the emperor. It is assumed that this meaning is transferred to Chosun.
