The Guodian Chu Jian’s Zun Deyi(≪郭店楚墓竹简⋅尊德义≫) co-existed 39 bamboo slips with a length of 32.5 centimeters, which is exactly the same as bamboo slips and font features in “Xing Zi Ming Chu(性自命出)”, “Cheng Zhi Wen Zhi(成之闻之)” and “Liu De(六德)”. The main content of Bamboo Slips of Guodian Chu: Respecting Virtue and Righteousness: The person who is a man should also pay attention to his own personal education, so as to implement the rule of virtue. When governing the people, they should be good at enlightenment and guidance to the people, and let the people go along the path of “respecting the benevolence, loyalty, respect for the strong, and courtesy”. In this way, the rule of virtue is realized. The gentleman ‘Jun Zi(君子)’ in this article refers to the ruler and expresses the virtues that today’s leader should have. It means respecting virtue and justice, clear rewards and punishments, and governing the people by example. This is a natural reason that is manifested in the process of materializing that the principle of governing the people by the sage lies in the ‘human right way(人之道, Ren Zhi Dao)’.
Abstract
The Guodian Chu Jian’s Zun Deyi(≪郭店楚墓竹简⋅尊德义≫) co-existed 39 bamboo slips with a length of 32.5 centimeters, which is exactly the same as bamboo slips and font features in “Xing Zi Ming Chu(性自命出)”, “Cheng Zhi Wen Zhi(成之闻之)” and “Liu De(六德)”. The main content of Bamboo Slips of Guodian Chu: Respecting Virtue and Righteousness: The person who is a man should also pay attention to his own personal education, so as to implement the rule of virtue.
