Breeding of Standard Rose, “Pink Angel” with Pink and White Color

Abstract

A new standard rose cultivar “Pink Angel” was bred from the cross between white standard cultivar “Athena” and redllyselected in 2003 after investigating characteristics for three years from 2001 to 2003. “Pink Angel”, a pink standard cultivar growsvigorously and has fashionable flower color. The major characteristics of this cultivar are 112.2 stems/m2/year in yield, 60.3 cm ined byboth cutting and grafting. The consumer's preference of this cultivar is relatively higher than that of control cultivar, “Noblesse”.
