Breeding of Standard Rose, “Florence” with Pink Color and High Productivity

Abstract

standard cultivar “Carl Red” at the National Horticulture Research Institute. The cros was made in 2000 and “Florence” wasfinally selected in 2004 after investigating characteristics for three years from 2002 to 2004. “Florence”, a pink standard cultivar2/year in yield and 84.7 inpetal number, 9.3 days in vase life. This cultivar can be propagated by both cutting and grafting. The consumer's preference of thiscultivar is relatively higher than that of control cultivar, “Noblese”.
