본 연구의 목적은 농촌이주 도시민의 특성과 공간적 선호를 분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 도시민의 농촌이주와 관련된 정책적 시사점을 제공하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 2005년 인구주택총조사 자료를 사용하여 도시민의 농촌이주확률 모형을 추정하였고, 거리를 모형에 반영하여 도시민의 농촌이주에 대한 공간적 선호를 분석하였다. 분석결과 수도권 거주 도시민과 비수도권 거주 도시민의 농촌이주 행태는 다르게 나타났다. 수도권 도시민의 농촌이주는 공간적 분포가 다양하고 이동거리가 긴 반면에 비수도권 도시민은 권역내 이동이 주를 이루었으며, 생애주기상 직업적 요인이 강한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 은퇴로 인한 농촌이주의 형태가 수도권에 거주하는 도시민에게 존재하고, 농촌은 그들에게 대안적 거주지로서 경쟁력이 있음을 밝혔다. 또한 거리는 농촌이주를 설명하는데 유의한 변수로 판단되었고, 수도권 거주 도시민의 농촌이주에 대한 거리탄력성은 충청권과 강원권을 넘어가면서 줄어들었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics and the spatial preference of urbanities who migrate to rural area and to provide policy implication related to rural migration of urbanities. We utilize the 2005 Korean Census data and estimate the probability model of rural migration and analyze the spatial preference by adding distance variable. This study shows that pattern of urban-rural migration differs between urbanities in Seoul metropolitan area and urbanities in non-metropolitan area. In terms of the migration pattern of urbanities in Seoul metropolitan area, the spatial distribution is diverse and its distance is longer than other migrants, whereas urbanities except Seoul metropolitan area migrate to adjacent rural area within their regions due to labor related factors. Empirical analysis concludes that there is rural migration pattern of retirement age in Seoul metropolitan area and rural area can be an alternative residence to them. Furthermore, it is found that distance variable is effective to explain rural migration due to the fact that spatial preference of urbanites in Seoul metropolitan area relatively decreases over of the boundary of Chungcheong area and Kangwon area.
