뼈에서 연조직을 제거하는 연화(maceration) 기술은 법의학과 인류학 연구에서 필수적으로 사용되는 방법으로, 범죄 현장 분석, 생물학적 프로필 작성, 표본 제작 등 다양한 목적을 위해 활용된다. 하지만, 특히 뼈대 표면 연구를 위한 표준화된 연화 방법은 여전히 부족하며, 기존의 방법들은 시간 소요, 비용, 표면 손상 등에서 한계가 있었다. 본 연구는 이러한 문제를 해결하고자, 한국에서 쉽게 구할 수 있는 비산성/무표백 세제와 산소계 표백 세제를 활용하여 효율적이고 실용적인 연화 방법을 탐색하였다. 실험은 90°C에서 12시간 및 72시간 동안 진행되었으며, 한국인 고정시신 42구, 신선시신 1구의 골반뼈를 대상으로 각각의 연화 효과를 비교하였다.
Abstract
The maceration of soft tissues from skeletons is a critical technique in forensic and anthropological research; however, there is no standardized method for effective bone maceration, particularly for surface analysis. This study aimed to develop an optimal maceration protocol using detergents readily accessible in Korea to ensure practical and reproducible application. Experiments were conducted on pelvic bones from 42 fixed Korean cadavers and one fresh cadaver, comparing the effects of two types of detergents—non-acidic/non-bleach cleaner & degreaser and oxygen-based bleach—at 1% and 10% concentrations.
