고등학교 사회과 수업 환경이 자기 주도 학습력에 미치는 영향 -경제 수업을 중심으로

본 연구는 Moos와 Trickett의 척도에 의한 고등학교 사회과 수업(경제 수업) 환경이 자기 주도 학습력에 미치는 영향을 밝히고자 하였다. 서울시 7개 학교 21개 학급을 대상으로 군집분석하여 도출된 세 가지 유형의 수업 환경에 따라 학생들의 자기 주도 학습력이 다르게 나타남을 확인하였다. 군집Ⅲ(급우관계가 긍정적이고, 매우 학업 지향적이며, 통제적이고, 덜 혁신적인 수업 환경)이 자기 주도 학습력이 가장 높게 나타났고, 다음으로 군집Ⅱ(급우관계가 긍정적이고, 교사의 지지가 높고, 비교적 학업 지향적이며 혁신적인 수업 환경), 군집Ⅰ(상대적으로 덜 학업 지향적이며 무질서한 수업 환경)의 순으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 통해 다음과 같은 점을 시사 받을 수 있었다. 첫째, 학생들이 인식한 수업 환경이 학생들의 자기 주도 학습력에 영향을 미친다는 점이다. 둘째, 수업 환경이 자기 주도 학습력의 하위 영역에 대해서도 동일하게 영향을 미치고 있음이 확인되었다. 셋째, 본 연구의 세 가지 수업 환경 유형은 다양한 하위 변인들 때문에 간단하게 정의할 수 있는 뚜렷한 모습으로 드러나지 않았지만 특히 학업지향성과 질서와 통제 정도가 자기 주도 학습력에 영향을 미치는 것으로 보인다.
Abstract
This study was conducted to investigate relation between psychological social studies classroom environment and self-directed learning in 21 high school economics classrooms. Using the statistical technique of cluster analysis resulted in three types of clusters that were most distinguishable by Moos's CES(involvement, affiliation, teacher support, task orientation, competition, order & organization, rule clarity, teacher control, innovation). The analysis showed that students in certain types of classroom environments have more positive self-directed learning ability than do students in other environments in high school social studies. This finding means that high school economics classroom environments are related with the student self-directed learning ability and yields important implications for social studies educators.
