이 연구는 임금근로 중인 비혼 여성들의 결혼의향과 이에 영향을 미치는 요인을 알아보고자 2017년도 여성가족패널자료 중 516명의 자료를 분석하였으며 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 응답자의 96% 이상이 20대와 30대 40대로나타났으며 응답자의 42%가 결혼의향이 없다고 하였고 58%가 결혼의향이 있다고 하였다. 둘째, 응답자들은 전통적인가족주의 결혼관에 대한 지지가 낮고 개인의 권리를 보다 중요하게 생각하는 개인주의 결혼관을 더 높게 지지하는 것으로나타났다. 셋째, 낮은 가족주의 결혼관과 진보적인 성역할태도는 결혼의향 없음에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나근래의 결혼과 관련된 가치관의 변화가 결혼의향에 부정적으로 영향을 미치고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 넷째, 현경제상태에 대해 부정적으로 인식하고 있을수록 결혼의향 없음에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 집값 상승이나교육비 부담과 같은 결혼비용 때문에 저소득 여성 노동자들에게 결혼은 더 이상 생의 전망을 밝혀주는 수단이 되어주지못하고 있는 것으로 보인다. 이 연구는 이러한 비혼 여성들의 결혼태도의 변화가 갖는 사회정책적 함의에 대해논의하였다.
Abstract
This study analyzed the data of 516 out of the 2017 Korean Survey of Women and Family to find out the marital intentions and factors influencing them of unmarried women working on wages, and the analysis results are as follows. First, more than 96% of the respondents were in their 20s and 30s and 40s, and 42% of the respondents said they did not intend to marry, and 58% said they intended to marry. Second, respondents showed lower support for the traditional familial marriage view and higher support for the individualistic marriage view, which values individual rights more importantly. Third, the low family-oriented marriage view and progressive gender role attitude were found to have a significant effect on no marriage intention, confirming that recent changes in marriage-related norms have a negative effect on marriage intention. Fourth, it was found that the negative perception of the current economic state had a significant effect on no intention to marry. Marriage seems to no longer be a means of brightening the prospects of life for low-income female workers because of the cost of marriage, such as rising housing prices and the burden of education. This study discussed the social policy implications of these changes in marital attitudes of unmarried women.
