본 연구는 탈북 청소년의 정치적 태도를 파악하고, 이에 따른 사회과교육의 과제를 논의하는 것이다. 이를 위해 탈북 청소년 173명의 정치효능감과 정치신뢰감의 정도를 파악하고 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 탈북 청소년의 정치효능감과 정치신뢰감이 모두 높은 수준의 ‘충성’의 정치적 정향을 보이고 있었다. 또한 탈북 청소년의 정치효능감에 영향을 미치는 요인은 남한의 정치사회화 경험이었으며, 정치신뢰감에 영향을 미치는 요인은 남한의 거주기간이었다. 이와 같이 북한의 초기 사회화가 아니라 남한의 재사회화 요인이 탈북 청소년의 정치적 태도에 영향을 미치고 있음이 확인되었다. 따라서 이러한 남한의 재사회화의 중요성을 인식하고, 탈북 청소년의 정치적 태도의 특성을 반영한 사회과교육을 실천할 때, 민주시민 양성을 위한 효과적인 방안이 열릴 것이다.
Abstract
This study is to figure out the political attitude of North Korean adolescent migrants and discuss the task of social studies education. This research conducted a survey on 173 adolescent defectors to identify political efficacy and political trust and factors which may affect their political attitudes. The results found that North Korean migrants show high level of political efficacy and political trust. It indicates that they have 'allegiant' political orientation where both political efficacy and trust are high. Rather than the initial impact from political socialization in North Korea, political socialization experiences and residence in the South are identified as significant factors resulting in the formation of political attitudes of North Korean adolescent migrants. Therefore, the social studies education can be well-performed for democratic citizenship in reflecting the characteristics of political attitudes of North Korean adolescent defectors.
