다문화가정 초기 청소년의 우울 영향 요인: 생태체계학적 관점을 중심으로

초록

다문화가정 초기 청소년은 다양한 미시, 중간, 외부, 거시체계 요인으로 인해 우울을 경험할 가능성이 높지만, 이들의 우울에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대한 실증적 연구, 그중에서도 이들의 복합적인 환경을 고려한 연구는 드문 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 한국청소년정책연구원의 다문화청소년패널조사 2기 3차(2021) 데이터를 활용하여 다문화가정 초기 청소년 우울 경험 여부 및 우울 수준에 영향을 미치는 요인을 확인하고자 하였다. 이 과정에서 Bronfenbrenner의 생태체계학적 관점을 적용해 요인을 선별하였으며, 표본 선택 편향을 방지하기 위해 헤크만 2단계 선택 모형으로 분석을 수행하였다. 연구 결과, 1단계 우울 경험 여부와 통계적으로 연관성이 있는 요인은 이중문화 수용태도(-), 따돌림 경험 있음(+), 부모의 학교 참여(+), 차별경험 및 미대응(+), 차별경험 및 대응(+)인 것으로 나타났다. 2단계 우울 수준과 관련이 있는 요인들은 따돌림 경험(+), 부모의 학교 참여(+), 부모의 모국인⋅외국인중심 대인관계 (+), 차별경험 및 미대응(+)으로 나타났다. 분석 결과에 기초하여 다문화가정 초기 청소년의 우울을 완화시키기 위한 방안들에 대해 논의하였다.

Abstract

Multicultural youth in early adolescence face a high risk of experiencing depression due to various micro, meso, exo, and macro system factors. However, empirical research on the factors influencing their depression, particularly considering their complex environments, is limited. This study utilized data from the 2021 third wave of the Multicultural Youth Panel to identify factors affecting depression experience and severity within this population. The Heckman two-step selection model was used to account for selection bias. The findings revealed that factors associated with depression experience included bicultural acceptance(-), bullying experience(+), parental school involvement(+), discrimination without coping(+), and discrimination with coping(+). Meanwhile, depression severity was significantly associated with bullying experience(+), parental school involvement(+), parental social networks with foreign or native people(+), and discrimination without coping(+). Intervention strategies are discussed based on the findings.
