대학생의 사회복지실천현장 실습 경험에 관한 질적 메타합성
A Qualitative Interpretive Meta-Synthesis of the Practicum Experience of Social Welfare Practice Setting among Undergraduate Students

본 연구의 목적은 대학생의 사회복지실천현장 실습 경험에 관한 국내 기반 기존 질적 연구물들을 해석학적 관점에 근거하여 정리 및 집약함으로써 새로운 차원의 앎을 창출하는 데에 있다. 이를 위해 포함과 배제 원칙에 따라 기발표된 연구들을 전수조사한 후 체계적인 절차로 한국연구재단 등재지 논문 총 8편을 엄선했고, 질적 해석적 메타합성 방식을 적용해서 분석대상을 상세하게 검토했다. 그 결과로써 연구참여자 총 66명의 실습 경험에 토대를 두어 16개의 하위범주를 발견하였다. 또한, 전체 분석 내용에 관해 부분과 전체, 전체와 부분을 지속해서 오가는 순환적 해석 작업으로 재검토하여 ‘두려움과 호기심 속에 초보자로 갈팡질팡하며 준비한 실습’, ‘강의실 밖 실습생으로 서툴게 내딛는 현장 향한 첫걸음’, ‘고충과 협력 가득 채워 서로 성장 이끈 실습에서의 관계들’, ‘시대 변화 발맞추며 교과 넘어서 현장감으로 쌓는 실천 역량’, ‘우여곡절로 마친 실습이었지만 한결 가까워진 예비사회복지사 되는 길’이라는 5개의 상위범주가 밝혀졌다. 이에 더해, 모든 연구참여자의 경험을 합성해 최종적으로 확인한 최종 중심주제는 ‘어리숙한 출발이었지만 실무능력 키우며 한층 다가가는 사회복지실천현장에서 꿈 펼칠 내일’과 같았다. 끝으로, 연구결과에 토대를 두어 대학생의 사회복지실천현장 실습 여건 개선과 교육환경 지원을 위한 방안 등에 관해 제언하였다.
Abstract
From a hermeneutic perspective, this study aims to summarize and collectively suggest previous domestic qualitative studies of the practicum experience of social welfare practice setting among undergraduate students, creating new dimensions of knowledge. To this end, all previously published studies were examined according to the principle of inclusion and exclusion, and eight KCI papers were selected systematically and then thoroughly examined using the qualitative interpretive meta-synthesis method. As a result, 16 subordinate categories were derived from the practicum experience of 66 participants. In addition, using the hermeneutic circle, in which the understanding of a text as a whole is based on the understanding of individual parts, and vice versa, this study observed five superordinate categories as follows: ‘practicum prepared in a bumbling manner by a beginner in fear and curiosity,’ ‘a clumsy first step toward the practice setting as a trainee outside the classroom,’ ‘a relationship filled with hardship and cooperation during the practicum that led to each other's growth,’ ‘practice competence developed through hands-on experience in the field, beyond the curriculum, in tandem with current trends,’ and ‘a step closer toward becoming a future social worker after completing the practicum filled with twists and turns.’ Furthermore, the final central theme finally confirmed by synthesizing the experience of all the participants was ‘tomorrow where they will follow their dream in the social welfare practice setting, a goal toward which they have gotten closer after developing their practice competence, despite a bumpy beginning.’ Lastly, based on the findings, this study provided recommendations regarding improvements to social welfare practice settings and educational environment support measures.
