본 논문은 성삼문(成三問)의 외손으로서 조부의 절의(節義)를 숭상하여 은사(隱士)로 일생을 보낸 암천(巖川) 박증(朴增)의 의리사상을 고찰하여 본 논문이다. 암천의 유고는 7편의 시(詩)에 불과하므로 후손들이 편집한 암천선생실기(巖川先生實紀)를 기본으로 하여 살펴보았다. 유학의 본지는 수기(修己)를 바탕으로 한 치인(治人)에 있으므로 적극적으로 벼슬에 나아가 도(道)를 실현하고자 하는 것이 기본 입장이지만, 도를 구현하기 어려운 특수상황에서는 처사(處士)로서의 삶을 살아야 한다. 그러므로 선비의 출처는 항상 의(義)를 기준으로 하여 자신의 역량과 시대상황을 올바르게 판단하여야 하는 것이다.암천은 일생 처사로 지내면서 항상 외조부인 성삼문의 충절을 높여 마음 속 깊이 새겨 추모하였으며, 엄자릉(嚴子陵)과 도연명(陶淵明)의 은거를 숭상하면서 세속의 이욕을 멀리하면서 높은 기풍(高風)을 추구하고자 하였으며, 백이(伯夷)의 청렴한 절의정신과 구인(求仁)의 자세를 높이면서 한결같이 덕성을 함양하면서 자락(自樂)의 자세로 고결한 삶을 살았다. 또한 암천은 벼슬에 나가고 물러나는 출처관(出處觀)이나 물건을 사양하고 받는 사수관(辭受觀) 등에 있어서 한결같이 의(義)에 근거해서 판단하고 실천하여 대전 지역을 중심으로 한 후대의 기호 유림들에게 큰 영향을 미쳤다.인간은 물질과 정신의 조화를 이루고 가운데서 참된 삶을 향유할 수 있는 것이다. 인격성과 도덕성을 기반으로 하여 권력과 불의에 타협하지 않고 정의를 구현하려는 선비정신은 인간의 인격을 형성하는 기반이 되며 국란시 구국을 위한 운동에 헌신할 수 있는 원동력이 될 수 있다. 은거 속에서 고결한 인품을 바탕으로 하여 의용(義勇)과 절의(節義)를 실천 암천의 삶은 유교사상의 핵심인 위기지학(爲己之學)의 본질을 나름대로 올바르게 인식하고 실천한 것이며, 그의 의리정신은 개인적 이기주의와 지나친 물질주의 인하여 부정과 불의가 만연된 현대사회 속에서 참된 인간의 삶을 모색할 수 있는 하나의 계기가 될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This essay aims to study on Amchon, Park Jeong's attitude toward righteousness thought. He had respect for Sung Sam Moon, who is Amchon's grandfather, and gave his life to a retired scholar. This essay focus on AmchonSunSangSylKee(巖川先生實紀) which is edited by Amchon's descendant, because Amchon's posthumous works are only seven poems. The main object of Confucianism is governing a country based on realization of right way after Soogy(修己). But Confucianism also accepts life of Confucianist as a retired scholar in special circumstances. Therefore, a scholar always judges correctly his own ability concerning the learning of the righteousness . Amchon as retired scholar had admired Sung Sam Moon's loyalty, Um Ja Reung and Do Yeon Meong's practical life which keeps away greed and pursues high spirit, lived his whole life concerning keeping uprightness following Back Ee's thought, cultivating moral character and being satisfied with his every single life. Moreover, he had a good influence on Ki-Ho(畿湖) Confucianist who lived in around Dae-Jun and made them judge, practice, live a life concerning righteousness when they obtains or resigns a government position and accepts or declines an offer. Honorable life is well-balanced between material and spirit. Thought of Confucianist which uncompromise authority, immorality and fight in the cause of justice based on moralism motivate building up man's character and devoting people to country war. Amchon's life stands for wei ji zhi xue(爲己之學), the heart of Confucianism. His righteousness thought will trigger the finding real life in these days spread injustice and materism.
