다문화가정 학생의 학교생활 실태에 대한 조사 연구 : 집단 간 차이와 집단 내 다양성

이 연구는 다문화가정 학생들의 인식조사를 바탕으로 다문화가정 학생들의 전반적인 학교생활 실태를 파악하고 학교생활에 영향을 미치는 배경 변인을 확인하고자 한 것이다. 이를 위해 전국 7개 지역의 다문화가정 학생 및 일반가정 학생들을 대상으로 학교생활에 대한 만족도, 교사와의 관계, 친구와의 관계, 한국어 능력, 학교 공부의 어려움 등에 대한 설문 조사를 수행하였다. 연구 결과, 다문화가정 학생들이 일반가정 학생들에 비해 학교생활에 대한 만족도가 더 높고 교사와의 관계에 대해 더 긍정적으로 인식하고 있는 반면, 친구와의 관계에 대해서는 일반가정 학생들이 다문화가정 학생들보다 더 긍정적으로 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 다문화가정 학생들 중에서는 국제결혼가정 학생들이 외국인노동자가정 학생들보다 학교생활에 대한 만족도가 더 높았고, 스스로의 한국어 능력에 대해 더 높게 평가하고 있었다. 다문화가정 학생들은 일반가정 학생들에 비해 자신의 학업성취도에 대해 더 부정적으로 인식하고 있었으며, 특히 국제결혼가정 학생들에 비해 외국인노동자가정 학생들 중에 학교공부에 대한 어려움이 있다고 답한 학생들이 더 많았다. 다문화가정 학생들은 수학, 사회, 영어를 가장 어려운 과목으로 선택하였다. 다문화가정 학생들의 학교생활에 대한 인식에 영향을 주는 변인으로는 성별, 학교급, 소득수준, 거주지역, 학업곤란유무, 임원경험 등이 검토되었다. 임원경험은 학교생활만족도, 교사와의 관계, 친구와의 관계, 한국어 능력과 긍정적인 관계가 있었으며, 소득수준이 높을수록 교사와의 관계, 친구와의 관계가 긍정적이고, 학교급이 낮을수록 교사와의 관계가 긍정적인 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로, 학교 다문화교육 및 사회과 교사의 역할과 관련된 시사점을 제시하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the current situations of students of multicultural families in school and variables to have an effect on them. For this purpose we carried out quantitative research using survey method. The subjects of this study were students of multicultural families(international marriage families, foreign workers families) and other students. The main research areas were the students' School Life Satisfaction, their Relations with Teachers and Students, Korean Language Skills, and their Academic Difficulties. As a result of this study, we found that there were some differences between groups and within groups: Firstly, the perceptions of students of multicultural families on their school lives differ from other students'. For example, the former's school life satisfaction levels were higher than the latter's, and they also taken more positive views on the relations with teachers than the latter's. Secondly, students of the international marriage families and foreign workers families were experiencing different school lives. Thirdly, school level, income level, the school leadership experiences were mayor variables to influence on the students' perception on their school lives.
