한국판 도박 증상 척도(KG-SAS)의 신뢰도와 타당도

본 연구에서는, 다양한 유형의 도박 경험자들을 대상으로, Kim, Grant, Adson, 및 Shin(2001)이 개발한 ‘도박 증상 척도(Gambling Symptom Assessment Scale)’ 한국판(KG-SAS)의 심리측정적 속성을 분석했다. G-SAS는 도박에 대한 지난 1주일간의 갈망과 그로 인한 피해를 평가할 수 있도록 개발된 12문항의 자기-보고식 측정도구로, 정신과 치료 과정의 증상 변화를 신뢰롭고 타당하게 측정하는 것으로 보고된 바 있다. 도박 경험이 있는 성인 남․여 502명을 대상으로 요인구조와 문항 속성을 분석하고, 내적 일관성 계수를 이용한 신뢰도 분석과 검사-재검사(3주) 신뢰도 분석을 실시했으며 척도의 준거 관련 타당도를 평가했다. 한국판 도박 증상 척도는 원판과 유사하게 안정적인 1요인 구조를 보였고 신뢰도 또한 높았으며(Cronbach’s α=.84∼.92; 검사-재검사 r=.74), 관련 특성들과 유의한 정적 상관관계를 보였다(도박 중독 수준 r=.48∼.54, 도박행동 빈도 r=.29∼.51, 강박적 도박 열정 r=.57, 비합리적 도박신념 r=.28, ps<.01). 이는 KG-SAS가, 도박 관련 문제 증상을 신뢰롭고 타당하게 평가할 수 있음을 시사한다. 끝으로 도박 중독 상담에 본 척도를 어떻게 활용할 수 있을지 논의하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the reliability and validity of the Korean version of the Gambling Symptom Assessment Scale(G-SAS; Kim, Grant, Adson, & Shin, 2001) in various types of gamblers. The G-SAS consisted of 12 items designed to assess gambling symptom severity and change during treatment. The factor structure, item property, reliability, and criterion-related validity were estimated using responses of 502 adults. The Korean version of G-SAS(KG-SAS) showed one factor structure and high reliability (internal consistency reliability=.84∼.92; test-retest reliability=.74) with adequate criterion-reliability validity(level of gambling addiction r=.48∼.54, frequency of gambling behaviors r=.29∼.51, compulsive gambling passion r=.57, irrational gambling belief r=.28, ps<.01). Findings demonstrated that KG-SAS is reliable and valid in assessing changes in symptoms during a treatment. Implications of the findings and directions to counseling on gambling addiction are discussed.
