질적 분석을 통한 상담과정 중 내담자 지혜 발달 연구

본 연구는 상담을 통해 내담자의 지혜가 발달하는지와 내담자의 지혜 발달을 촉진시키는 상담과정 요인을 알아보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위하여 상담에 참여했던 내담자들을 대상으로 합의에 의한 질적 방법(CQR)을 사용하여 질적 분석을 하였다. 본 연구에서는 상담을 통해 문제가 해결되고 도움을 받았다고 보고한 내담자 10명을 분석대상으로 하였다. 선정된 내담자들은 비선정내담자들에 비해 상담전보다 지혜가 증가하였고 현재 증상정도가 경미하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 내담자는 지혜를 조망의 확대, 평정심으로 지각하였고, 상담을 통해 인지적, 정서적, 행동 및 관계적 측면에서 지혜로워졌다고 하였다. 둘째, 내담자는 상담을 통해 인지적, 정서적, 행동 및 관계 측면에서의 변화를 보고하였다. 셋째, 상담을 통해 지혜가 발달한 내담자는 비교적 장기간 상담이 이루어졌으며 상담에 자발적으로 참여하였고 상담받기 이전에 관계 문제를 가지고 있었다. 넷째 상담과정 중에서 공감, 직면, 제안, 해석 등의 상담기법이 도움이 된 것으로 나타났다. 또한 도움이 된 상담자의 요인은 내담자를 향한 배려와 관심으로 밝혀졌다. 끝으로 본 연구 결과를 논의하였으며 함의와 한계 및 후속연구에 대한 제안점을 기술하였다.
Abstract
The purposes of this study are two folds; One is to look at whether clients could develop their wisdom through the counseling process and the other is to figure out the factors which promote the clients' wisdom development(WD). The Consensual Qualitative Research method was adopted to address these questions. The results are as follows; First, the clients defined the wisdom as both a widened perspective and calmness; Second, the clients reported positive changes in the areas of cognition, emotion, behavior, and personal relationships; Third, the clients who reported an increase in their wisdom level were those who attended therapy voluntarily, for a long period of time, and with a complaint in their personal relationships. Fourth, among a therapist's counseling skills, sympathy, confrontation, suggestion, and interpretation were considered as helpful for the client's WD. Lastly, the therapist’s thoughtful concerns and considerations to the clients significantly affected the clients' WD.
