종가의 생활문화에서 탐색한 자녀 인성교육 프로그램 도출 연구 - 안동 一圓 종가를 중심으로 -

Abstract

This author deems that pathological phenomena existing all around our society today have basically resulted from the loss of character education in childhood. This study is aimed to seek ways to solve the problems with the righteous methodology of early childhood education applied by head family that has preserved and transmitted traditional living culture. Believing that they have handed down ancestors’ mind and culture to descendants for the last 500 or so years, they have followed and succeeded to the values preserving and protecting their old house. This researcher has explored the living culture of Korea’s prestigious head family and examined their methods and contents of early childhood education profoundly. First of all, considering the character and character education found in Confucian scriptures, this research examined the contents and methods of character education according to the process of child growth. Second, this author investigated character education for children explored in the living culture of three head families out of Andong head families: Daesan Lee Sang-jeong head family, Sujeongjae Ryu Jeong-mun head family, and Hakbong Kim Seong-il head family. Third, within the living culture of the 21st-century Ongojisin (溫故知新; review the old and learn the new) head families, this author drew character education programs for children. Consequently, this researcher has found that those head families’ early childhood education can be reapplied and reused newly in the field of contemporary family education.
