We surveyed 292 college students majoring in culinary and food service in Busan in an attempt to investigate how job selection factors influences choice motives of major. For the purpose, general features, factors and reliability of respondents were analysed. In the analysis, t-test, ANOVA analysis, and regression analysis were used. The hypothesis that career selecting factors might vary depending on academic major was adopted. The hypothesis that it varies by major satisfaction was partially adopted as well. Additionally, the hypothesis that major satisfaction might change the major selection motive was adopted. Therefore, it can be concluded that job selection reason affects partially major decision motive.
