Abstract

The Gumi area has played an important role in the national economy and created a lot of employment which is centered on the Gumi national Industrial Complex. However, within the recent decade, lots of global big companies of the Gumi Industrial Complex has escaped due to the deregulation of the metropolitan area and the relocation of its global production base. As a result, Gumi local economies have been shrinking due to the relocation of major small and medium-sized supply partners. Moreover, the slowdown in the global economy, the decline in volumes due to the transfer of large companies to overseas and metropolitan areas, and slowing growth in the manufacturing sector are continuing, and the problem of employment in the Gumi area is getting worse. In the meantime, many efforts and studies have been carried out on the upgrading of the Gumi Industrial Complex and the fostering of the new growth industry. However, there is still no clear alternative, and these difficulties are getting worse in recent years due to various factors. In this paper, we analyze the status of industrial complexes and employment trends centered on Gumi Industrial Complex in order to promote the economy of Gumi region and expand the employment and suggest five ways of expanding jobs in the Gumi area as follows. - Employment increase through activation of Gumi Industrial Complex - Fostering of related industries and development of related technical experts in response to the 4th industrial revolution - Measures to raise employment for young people - Measures to increase female employment - Measures to raise employment for elderly peopl
