부실기업의 회생노력이 회생성과에 미치는 영향

The Effect of Turnaround Efforts on Turnaround Performance of Insolvent Companies

초록

본 연구는 부실기업을 대상으로 기업회생을 위한 어떠한 회생노력을 실시하였는지, 이러한 회생노력이 회생성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하여 회생을 극복하기 위한 전략적 방안을 제시하고자 하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 독립변수로는 회생노력(전략변화-사업구조 변화, 제품/서비스 변화, 재무관리 변화, 연구개발 변화, 생산환경 변화, 재무정책-채권단 노력, 재무능력, 경영자 교체)을 사용하였고, 종속변수로는 회생성과(안전성 성과, 수익성 성과)를 사용하였다. 분석방법은 회생을 극복한 기업을 대상으로 회생당시의 정황을 충분히 알 수 있는 응답자를 대상으로 수집된 49개의 설문을 바탕으로 SPSSWIN 21.0을 활용한 회귀방정식 모형을 사용하여 분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 제품서비스 변화와 재무관리 변화, 재무능력은 총부채비율 감소에 정(+)의 유의적인 영향을 미치며, 연구개발 변화는 총부채비율 감소에 부(-)의 유의적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 사업구조 변화와 연구개발 변화, 채권단 노력은 영업이익률 증가에 부(-)의 유의적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 제품서비스 변화, 재무관리 변화, 생산환경 변화, 경영자 교체는 정(+)의 유의적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 기업의 회생노력이 회생성과의 유형에 따라 미치는 영향이 다름을 나타내고 있고, 기업이 회생을 위해 필요한 재무성과가 무엇인지에 따라 상이한 회생노력을 추진해야함을 보여주고 있다. 기업이 안정성 지표인 총부채비율의 감소를 주된 목적으로 회생노력을 기울일 경우, 제품서비스 변화노력과 재무관리 변화노력, 그리고 높은 수준의 자금창출능력 및 부채상환과 담보능력을 보유해야 함을 보여주고 있다. 또한, 기업이 수익성 재무성과인 영업이익률의 증가를 목적으로 할 경우에는 제품과 서비스 라인을 감축하는 제품서비스 변화노력, 자산처분 등을 통한 유동성을 확보하고자 하는 재무관리 변화노력, 생산환경 변화노력 및 경영진의 교체가 중요함을 보여주고 있다.

Abstract

This study aims to suggest the strategic solutions for corporate rehabilitation by analyzing the influence of efforts on the turnaround performance targeting insolvent companies and the effect of turnaround strategies. The independent variables were the change of strategies, business structure, goods⋅service, production environment, financial management, financial policy and creditor application, financial capacity and executive succession. The dependent variables were safety and profitability of turnaround performance. An analysis was conducted by using a modelling of regression equation utilizing SPSSWIN 21.0 based on the 49 questionnaires collected by the companies which overcame turnaround circumstances and respondents that know enough about turnaround situations. The result of the analysis, the change of goods⋅service and financial management had a significant improvement in the decrease of total debt ratio. Research and development changes had a significant decline in the decrease of total debt ratio. Changes in business environment, research⋅development and creditor application caused a significant decline in the increase of ratio of operating profit to sales ratio and finally changes in service, financial management, production environment and executive succession caused a significant improvement in the increase of ratio of operating profit to sales ratio. These results show that These conclusions show that in the case of the companies that make efforts to reduce the total debt ratio for the main purpose, there needs to be changes of goods⋅service and financial management and have a high level of creation of funds, debt redemption and security solvency. And they also show that in the case of the companies that aim at increases in operating profit to sales ratio that is a financial performance, the change of financial management, production environment and executive succession is important through the changes in product⋅service and asset disposal.
