국가기록원은 전자기록물의 장기적 접근성과 재현성을 보장하기 위해 보존포맷으로 변환하는 마이그레이션 전략을 채택하고 있다. 보존포맷을 선정하기 위해서는 보존포맷 선정체계에 따른 평가를 지속적으로 수행해야 한다. 그러나 파일포맷에 대한 공신력 있는 정보 접근이 제한적이고, 파일포맷의 기술적 사양과 특성에 대한 전문지식이 요구되는 등 평가 과정에서 여러 어려움이 발생한다. 이러한 문제는 보존포맷 선정체계의 실무 정착을 저해하는 요인으로 작용할 수 있다. 본 연구는 보존포맷 선정평가의 효율성을 높이고자 평가를 지원하는 도구의 기능을 정보관리와 평가지원 영역으로 구분하여 제안하였다. 그리고 해당 도구의 실현 가능성을 평가하기 위해 파일포맷 정보 리소스 3곳에서 제공하는 정보를 보존포맷 선정기준(공통) 평가문항과 비교, 분석하여 정보 연계 가능성을 검토하였다.
Abstract
The National Archives of Korea (NAK) has adopted a migration strategy to convert preservation formats to ensure the long-term accessibility and reproducibility of digital records. To select an appropriate preservation format, it is necessary to conduct evaluations based on the preservation format selection system. Evaluating file formats is challenging due to limited access to reliable information about file formats and the requirement for specialized knowledge of their technical specifications and characteristics. As a result, the evaluation process can act as a barrier to the practical implementation of the preservation format selection system. This study aims to improve the efficiency of preservation format selection evaluations by proposing the functionality of a support tool divided into two domains: information management and evaluation support. Furthermore, to assess the feasibility of this tool, the study analyzed the information provided by three reliable file format information portals and compared it with the evaluation criteria (common) of the preservation format selection system to examine the potential for information integration.
