초록

A Defense Quality Management System(DQMS) is introduced to improve the quality assurance capability of defense industries and effectively conduct the government’s quality assurance activities. However, to maintain the certification, many defense companies perform minimal activities, such as certification examinations and submission of corrective measures for nonconformity. In 2021, the Defense Agency for Technology and Quality developed a quantitative evaluation model for the DQMS to induce self-rescue efforts by companies and institutionalize them. In this study, practical methods for improving the quantitative evaluation model of a DQMS are proposed based on field application results. The developed quantitative evaluation model is applied to 20 DQMS certified defense companies and the results are analyzed. The proposed practical improvement methods include reducing the number of evaluation items, designing documentation forms for preparing an audit, and imposing strict qualifications to the auditors. The DQMS quantitative evaluation model is expected to be stably institutionalized, thereby improving the quality-management system of defense companies and the quality of their products.
